Gladys 'Gay' Cutler

Gay Cutler, 92 of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Central Christian Church in Marshalltown, Iowa on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date. Gladys Heidlebaugh was born on June 14, 1922, in Tonganoxie, Kansas; she was the daughter of Earl Heidlebaugh and Edna Ruth Wing. She attended in Marshalltown Schools graduating with the class of 1939. On March 1, 1941, in the Parsonage in Indianola, Iowa, Gay was united in marriage to Lloyd L. Cutler. Gay was a member of Central Christian Church. She was a founding member of the Win-A-Couple Sunday School Class at Central Christian and served multiple terms as President of the Christian Womens Fellowship, and Merry Mixers and for many years she sang in the Church Choir. Gay was happiest in her home caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking, as well as sewing, knitting, crocheting and embroidery. She enjoyed working both crossword and jigsaw puzzles; she also played 500 and was a member of two card clubs. Gay was an avid reader and wrote childrens stories and published a short Christmas story in the Mature Living Magazine. Left to cherish her memory are her children: LeAnne (Dan) Schneider of Marshalltown, Iowa, Terri Cutler of West Des Moines, Tana (John) Aagesen of Ames, Iowa and Shawna Cutler, of Marshalltown, Iowa. Grandchildren: Jeffrey and Clinton (Betsy) Schneider), Jason (Leigh) and Jarod (Chrissa) Elsberry,Timothy and TJ Flanagan, John Ryan and Michael Aagesen. Great-grandchildren: Logan, Rachel and Samantha Elsberry, Dylan Hutzel and Jack Elsberry. In death Gay rejoins her parents, Earl and E. Ruth Heidlebaugh, Husband of 67 years, Lloyd Cutler, sister, Lola Michelson, favorite Aunt and Uncle, Lee and Alma Heidlebaugh, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Floyd and Vivian Cutler.
