Gladys Mysak, 95, of Marshalltown, formerly of Traer, died on Friday, February 8, 2008 at Grandview Heights Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2008, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Gladys and her family. Born on November 24, 1912, in Gladbrook, she was the daughter of Theodore and Anna (Carstensen) Wiese. She attended school in the Gladbrook vicinity, graduating in 1927. Gladys married Frank J. Mysak on April 20, 1939, in Marshalltown. They farmed near Traer for 33 years, and then moved to Toledo in 1972. Frank passed away on December 18, 1994. Gladys moved to Grandview Heights in Marshalltown on September 17.Left to cherish her memory are her children: VerJean(Skip) Mugford of Newark, CA, and Verlyn Mysak of Marshalltown; her 5 grandchildren. Brian(Michelle) Wagner of Lafayette, CO, Valerie(Patrick) Rush of Fair Oaks, CA, Leigh Alameda, Rob Mugford, Jr., and Kristin Mugford; and her 4 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter. In death, she has rejoined her husband, her brothers, Wilbert and Alvin Wiese, and her sisters, Helen Sage and Loraine LeFevre.
