Glen Ingledue

Glen Ingledue, 87, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at his home. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at the First United Church of Christ with a time to greet the family immediately following. Glen will be buried in a private ceremony following the family reception. Memorials may be directed towards the family. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Glen and his family. Phone 641-844-1234. Glen Louis Ingledue was born on May 23, 1926, in Marshall County, Iowa, to William Isaac and Augusta Warner Ingledue. He graduated from LaMoille High School. On March 21, 1950, Glen was united in marriage to Margaret Ruth Thomas at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They resided in Eldora and later divorced but remained close friends. Eventually Glen moved to Marshalltown. Glen was a member of the National Farmers Organization, Farm Bureau and a member of the National Rifle Association. Glen was a life-long farmer and Crows Seed Corn dealer. His activities were many; he loved to fish, play pool, and attend farm showsespecially the Mid-Iowa Antique Power Show. Glen enjoyed making hay on his sons farm, traveling, and liked to go to the Iowa State Fair and enter the beard contest. Above everything else, he loved to help out others in any way possible. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Ginger (Harry) Athas of Eldora; Tim Ingledue of Eldora; Glena (Jerry) Nolting of Ackley; Chuck (Renee) Ingledue of Emmons, Minnesota; and Richard (Darla) Ingledue of Marshalltown; sister, Helen Sharp; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; his friend of many years, Bonnie Lukehart and her family; and his ex-wife, Margaret. Glen is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Gladys Wantz, Clarice Griggs and Elsie Johson. Brothers: Wendell C. Ingledue, Morris Ingledue, Vernon Ingledue, and Marion Ingledue.
