Glenda Schmidt

Glenda Schmidt, 63, of Aplington and formerly of Marshalltown, departed this life suddenly on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the Satori Hospital in Cedar Falls. Memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorial may be directed to the family. Born Glenda Anita Warnell on December 7th, 1952, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Richard and Betty (Buchanan) Warnell. She received her education in her hometown and later college at the Marshalltown Community College. Glenda was united in marriage to Robert Keith Schmidt, and even though their marriage ended, they were blessed with four children-Robert, Tony, Donny and Chrissy. Glenda treasured all of them and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren that they blessed her with. She was a CNA at Villa del Sol and MMSC and enjoyed going to the casino, doing crossword puzzles and phone games. Left to cherish her memory is her children: Robert Schmidt, Jr. of Marshalltown, Tony (Kelly) Schmidt of Allison, Donny (Nicki) Schmidt of Marshalltown, and Chrissy Schmidt of Eldora; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Wayne (Latonya) Warnell of Marshalltown and many other family and friends. In death, Glenda rejoined her parents and son, Willie Rhoades.
