Glendon John McLean, 71, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, April 13, 2023.
Services for Glendon will take place at Mitchell Family Funeral home, in Marshalltown, Iowa on Saturday, April 22 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will precede the service at 10:00 A.M. with internment at Stavanger Cemetery, LeGrand, Iowa following the service. Glendon was born on February 18, 1952 in Muscatine, Iowa to parents Gordon Edward McLean and Cornelia Christine (Lunde) McLean. As a child he resided in Boone, Iowa and Park Ridge, Illinois, where he graduated from Maine Township High School South in 1970. Glendon went on to receive his associates degree from Triton Junior College. Upon graduation he began his career in education teaching Auto/Diesel Mechanics at Lincoln Technical School and then at Des Moines Technical Public High School. After retiring from teaching, Glendon moved to Marshalltown and launched a successful recording, sound and lighting business which was utilized by dance, music and theatrical productions throughout central Iowa. He was an active member of Stavanger Friends Church, and served on the board for Pioneer Days in Marshalltown. Glendon was talented at fixing and rebuilding just about anything but had a special interest in rebuilding engines and racing cars.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Krista (Jack) Feldman and Kay Anderson; nieces and nephews: BreAnne (Rob) Losik, Lindsay (Anders) Hagberg, Nathaniel (Whitney) Feldman and Bradley (Koreen) Anderson; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous extended family and many friends and former students.
In eternal life, Glendon is reunited with his parents, Gordon and Cornelia McLean.
