Glenn Damman, 81, of Melbourne, currently residing at Southridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died there Sunday, April 1. Visitation for Glenn will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with a public rosary and vigil beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial for Glenn will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Following cremation, a private family burial will be held at a later date at the Melbourne Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed in Glenns name to either St. Mary Church or the Melbourne First Responders. He was raised and educated in the Melbourne area attending the Country School and graduating from the Melbourne High School. Glenn was united in marriage to Lois Nowlan on August 18, 1956, at St. Marys Church in Colo, Iowa. To this union a son, Charles was born. Glenn and Lois made their home on the family farm for their entire married lives where he actively owned and operated their family farm. Glenn enjoyed NASCAR races and collecting MM Toy Farm Machinery.Glenn is survived by his wife Lois of Melbourne, his son Charles Damman of rural Melbourne and his sister Doris (Loren) Dykeman of Ankeny.He was preceded in death by his parents.
