Glenn Ledford, 90, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on January 24, 2014, at Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City, Iowa, surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until service time at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family. Glenn Kenneth Ledford was born in Green City, Missouri, on June 19, 1923. He was the son of Albert and Eva Lena (Ayers) Ledford. Glenn attended School in the Missouri Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1936, and then went on to college for 1 year. Glenn served our country honorably in the United Sates Army from1943, until 1945, serving as a Rifleman (M-1 Rifle Marksman). On December 21, 1947, Glenn was united in marriage to Gladys Marie (Lander) Ledford and they resided in rural Marshalltown, Iowa. Glenn loved his farm, horses, enjoyed reading, and loved to spend time with his loving family. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Glenda (Kenneth) Bogue of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Dana (Chris) Hougher of St Cloud, Florida; Elaine (Doug) Egli of Fort Dodge, Iowa; and Marvin Ledford of Marshalltown, Iowa. Grandchildren: Scott Bogue of Des Moines, Iowa; Amy Johnson of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Eugene Kunkle of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Jennifer Gilmartin of St. Cloud, Florida; Kristine Smith of St. Cloud, Florida; Lauren Egli of Omaha, Nebraska; Morgan Egli of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Maddie Egli of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Lisa Ledford of Marshalltown, Iowa. Great-grandchildren: Caryn Dawson, Megan Dawson, Hailey Dawson and Emma Johnson and Kennedy Johnson, all of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Angelina Bogue of Des Moines, Iowa; Trace Smith and Savannah Smith of St. Cloud, Florida; and Katelin. Gilmartin also of St. Cloud, Florida. In death Glenn rejoins his parents, Eva and Albert; wife, Gladys; daughter, Karen Kunkle; brothers: Loren, Howard, Harold; and sister, Esther Kumm.
