Gloria Dankbar

Gloria Georgene Dankbar, 70, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Gloria Hartwell was born on October 10, 1943 to Robert Edward and Shirley Irene Cooley Hartwell of Quarry, Iowa. Gloria had worked at the Captains Galley Restaurant as a waitress where she met Wayne Dankbar and on September 6, 1969 Gloria was united in marriage to him at Immaculate Conception Church in Haverhill. Gloria and Wayne worked on the farm in the Haverhill area after marriage. They resided in Haverhill and then later moved to Marshalltown. Gloria had also worked at Trowel, Karmelkorn, Seiferts, and the Central Iowa Credit Union. Gloria loved to play with her dog, enjoyed time with her friends and family and cherished the time with her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory is her children: Scott (Brenda) Dankbar of Marshalltown and Stacey (Craig) Mommer of Gilman. Grandchildren: Nick and Kayla Mommer. Sisters: Roberta Steir of Arizona and Jill Hartwell of Marshalltown and many nieces and nephews. Gloria is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, sister Valerie Stabenow-Enlow and brother Donald Edward Hartwell.
