Gloria Myers

Gloria Myers, age 65, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in the comfort of her own home. She was under the care of Iowa River Hospice.

** UPDATE** Per Gloria and her family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A family-led Celebration of Life has been rescheduled for Monday, February 23, 2026, starting at 3:00 P.M. at New City Church of Marshalltown. Gloria Jean Myers was born on September 11, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Ralph and Dorothy Calvert. Gloria received her schooling at the Illinois School District. On November 2, 2002, she married the love of her life Dan Myers at the First Congregational Church in Marshalltown. Gloria worked for many years as a Certified Medical Assistant at the Iowa Veterans Home and was a faithful member of the New City Church. In her free time, she enjoyed hiking, going on long drives, and staying busy in the outdoors. Gloria will be remembered as a true animal lover who loved cats and dogs but also had a passion for Tigers.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Dan Myers; her children William Myers and Nicole Wilsey (Matthew) Starr; her granddaughter Catherine Starr; her siblings: Cindy Krisa, Diana, Fred Calvert, Carole Moore, and Alex Moore; and her calico cat “KK”.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Dorothy, and her brother Wayne Calvert.
