Grace Anderson

Grace Anderson, 96, formerly of Woodward, most recently of the Heritage Manor in Iowa Falls, died Saturday, July 4th, at the Ellsworth Hospital in Iowa Falls. There will be no services at this time. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation in Woodward, Iowa. Friends may call the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown for information. 641-844-1234. Born Grace Elizabeth Spain on July 16th, 1912, in Peoria, Iowa, she was the daughter of John Edwin and Julia D. (Hess) Spain. She graduated from the Monroe High School and later Wm. Penn College in Oskaloosa. On April 27th, 1935, she married Edward L. Anderson in Waukee. Mrs. Anderson was employed as a bookkeeper for the Perry Daily Chief in Perry. Surviving are her children: Grace Lepley of Union, Iris Anderson of Columbus, NE., Edward Anderson of Yuma, AZ, sister Lois Hammer of Casa Grande, AZ, sister Dorothy Johnson of Mitchellville, Iowa, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents and three brothers.
