Greg L Gibbs

Gregory L. Gibbs, 67, of Conrad, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center in Waterloo.

A Celebration of Life for Greg will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. The family requests casual dress. Greg Gibbs was born on March 22, 1958 in Marshalltown. He was the son of Dale and Charlene (Mitchell) Gibbs. He graduated from BCL High School in 1976. On November 4, 1978, Greg was united in marriage to Sandra Bertram and they later divorced. Greg had worked numerous jobs over his career, including working for different farmers in the area, semi-truck driver and most recently for Mid Iowa Co-Op. He had also been a member of the Conrad and Whitten Fire Departments. Greg enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing and was an extraordinary artist. He also loved to barbeque and entered numerous competitions.

Greg is survived by his children: Christopher (Jess) Gibbs of Conrad, Jeff (Briana) Gibbs of Gladbrook, Amanda (Anthony) Jahr of Ames, Chad Gibbs of Alexandria, Minnesota, Heather (Spencer Simpson) Gibbs of Urbandale and Toni (Melvin) Schmitt of Waterloo. Grandchildren: Anabelle, CJ, James, Charlie, Asher, Allie and Mylo. Siblings: Connie (Mike) Woosley of Conrad and Janiece “Jan” (Doug) Doe of Melbourne. Greg is also survived by his extended family.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter: Evie Gibbs; nephew: Joseph Woosley and his grandparents.
