Greg Nissen, 53, long time resident of Marshalltown, died May 31, 2007, in Tucson, Arizona. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held Friday, June 8th at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown with Pastor Gregg Davison officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown with flag presentation honors by the American Legion Frank Lewis Glick Post #46. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1971. He attended junior college in California before serving our country honorably in the United States Air Force. On November 28, 1981, in Spencer, Iowa he was united in marriage to Vickie Gardner. They made Marshalltown their home for many years where he was employed as a Financial Services Professional. Seven months ago, the couple moved to Tucson, Arizona where he continued his financial services career with New York Life. Greg enjoyed his family, the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Atlanta Braves, the Chicago Bears, fishing, wrestling, and deck parties. He will be greatly missed by many. Left to celebrate his life is his loving wife of 25 years, Vickie; two sons, Eric and his wife Haley of Marshalltown; Brett of Tucson, Arizona; a granddaughter, Addisen; a grandchild due in October; his siblings, Denny Nissen and the late Molly of Spencer; Ronnie Nissen and his wife Robbin of Laurens; Delores Koehlmoos and her husband Frank of Des Moines; Dori Beck of West Okoboji; Steve Nissen and his wife Pat of Spencer; and Dave Nissen of Spencer; his sisters in law, Peggy Gardner of Lake Park; and Debra Gardner of Storm Lake; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
