Gregory Curtis

Gregory P. Curtis, 71, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.   Cremation rites have been accorded and there are currently no services scheduled.  Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Greg and his family.   Greg Curtis was born on February 7, 1947 in Grinnell to Paul and Marceline Maples Curtis. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1966. On September 21, 1968, Greg was united in marriage to Mary Young at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Greg’s pride and joy was working as a journeyman electrician for Local 347 of Des Moines. He enjoyed fishing, playing the drums, photography and body building and had won 2nd place in the Junior Iowa competition. Greg never half attempted to do anything and would give it his all at everything he was involved in.   Greg is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary and their daughter Lisa (Charles Stas) Curtis of Crystal Lake, Illinois. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jacob Richard, Jacob Paul, Zane Allen, Jacey Lynn and Javen Curtis; great grandchildren: Holly Ellyn and Isabelle Raine; siblings Carolyn Ahrens, Penny Kabrick, Jeff Curtis and step mom Barbara Curtis.   Greg is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Marceline and brother Roger Curtis.
