Guy Hoffman

Guy Hoffman, age 66, lifelong resident of Marshalltown, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Odd Fellows in Marshalltown. Per the wishes of Guy and his family, cremation rites have been accorded. A public visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family. For online condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph 641-844-1234. Born Melvin Guy Hoffman Jr. on March 08, 1956 in Marshalltown, Iowa, he was the son of Melvin and Doris (Wood) Hoffman. Guy grew up in Marshalltown alongside his three siblings and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Marshalltown High School with the class of 1976. He was well-known in Marshalltown as G-Money, the pizza delivery Guy, first working for Godfather’s Pizza and then Pizza Hut. In his free time, he was a member of the Dart League and enjoyed bowling and watching movies. Guy was very social and loved visiting with people everywhere he went. He was also obsessed with the weather and enjoyed sharing stories of Marshalltown's history. Guy is survived by two sisters: Melanie Hoffman of Oxford, MI and Becky Reisinger (Cedric Brown) of Marshalltown, IA; sister-in-law, Michelle Hoffman of Centerville, OH; nieces: Teri (Brad) Starn of State Center, IA and Dalynn Dowling of Clovis, NM; nephews: Josiah Hoffman (Angel) of Dayton, OH, Jeremiah Hoffman (Marissa) of Kettering, OH and Tim Freiboth of Glenville, WV and seven great-nieces and great-nephews, plus one on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kevin Hoffman.
