H. Virginia Scott

H. Virginia Scott, 98, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Southridge Specialty Care.

Memorial services for Virginia will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. H. Virginia Pangburn was born on July 17, 1924 in Kensett, Iowa to William Henry and Maude May (Wells) Pangburn. She graduated high school in 1942. She was married to Orlin Merle Kirchgatter in 1948 at the Little Brown Church, and later was married to William A. Scott in 1959 in Mount Ayr. Virginia was a housewife and enjoyed birds, gardening, being out in nature and above everything else, loved her family.

Virginia is survived by her children: Judy Schroeder of Marshalltown, Gary (Linda) Kirchgatter of Marshalltown, Teri Meeks of Newton and Sandy (Deanna) Scott of Kentucky. Grandchildren: Scott Underwood of Arkansas, Shannon Schroeder of Gladbrook, Justin Meeks of Marshalltown and Ashley Meeks of Newton. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Haley, Madison, Joshua, Jacob and Jadyn.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, William; parents, William and Maude; her siblings and grandchildren: Christopher and Alan.
