Hanna Stevenson

Hanna Stevenson, 70, of State Center, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at State Center Specialty Care in State Center.   Funeral services for Hanna will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Hanna and her family.   Hannelore Scheiding was born on January 2, 1949 in Helmstedt, West Germany to Willy and Annemarie Cornelius Scheiding. The family moved to Marshalltown in 1956. She worked in the dietary department at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Hanna enjoyed baking and was very generous with her time, visiting friends in nursing homes and hospitals. She was an exceptional singer and had always dreamed of being on the Lawrence Welk Show.   Hanna is survived by her siblings: Manfred “Manny” Scheiding of West Des Moines, Wilfried “Pete” (Jeannie) Scheiding of Clarksville, Tennessee, Christina “Chris” Scheiding of Marshalltown and Anette Scheiding of Marshalltown as well as her nieces and nephew. Hanna is preceded in death by her parents: Willy and Annemarie and her sister, Rose Weiny.
