Harley Leeper, 86, of Lamoille, died Saturday afternoon, May 7, 2011, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.A memorial gathering will be held from 5 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. He will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Lamoni, Iowa. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph. 641-844-1234.Born on December 9, 1924, in Ringgold County, Iowa, he was the son of William and Liccie (Tedrow) Leeper. He worked at the Lamoni Packing House and moved to Marshalltown in 1958 to work at Marshall Pack, the Leavys Locker and retired from Fisher Controls after 20 plus years of service.He enjoyed fishing and going to flea markets and auctions with his beloved wife, Marge.Left to cherish his memory are Marge, his loving wife of 67 years whom he married on August 9, 1943, in Bethany, MO., two children- Dave (Doris) Leeper of Kellerton and Karyol Haye of Marshalltown, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, a sister Marie Johnston of Lamoni and brother Francis (May) Leeper of Des Moines as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In death he rejoined his parents, son James, granddaughter, four brothers, one sister and a son-in-law Terry Haye.
