Harold Antle

Harold Antle, 70, of rural LeGrand passed away on January 8, 2016, at Central Iowa Healthcare in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family. Harold Lee Antle was born in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of Howard and Fern (Coffin) Antle. Harold attended school in the LDF Community School district graduating with the class of 1963; he then went on to Marshalltown Community College in the welding program. On August 17, 1991, Harold was united in marriage to Sherryl Davis at the First Baptist Church in Des Moines. They had resided in the rural LeGrand area. Harold was retired but continued busy as a welder and farmer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Moose, Sheriff Reserves in Marshall County, Brotherhood of the Deer Hunters. He always was busy building things as a welder, his yard was meticulous, and as well as his farm, plowed snow. He will be remembered as a big hearted man, but above all his grandchildren were his life. Harold also was devoted to those who have gone on as he was the caretaker of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery north of LeGrand. Left to cherish is his wife of 25 years, Sherryl, daughters, Dawna (Kevin) Coffland, Dayna Smith, and Danielle (Mick) Good and grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Rabekah and Hanna Coffland; Riley, Abigail and Isaiah Smith; and Ruger Good.
