Harold Schuett, 90, of Toledo, Iowa, passed away on the morning of July 10, 2022 in the comfort of his own home. At this time cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. Memorials in Harold’s name may be directed to his family for a later designation. For additional information or to send a condolence please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call 641-844-1234. Harold Henry Schuett was born on July 16, 1931 in Tama, Iowa. He was one of three children born to August and Etta (Schmidt) Schuett. Harold attended school in Tama, Iowa and he graduated from Tama High School in 1949. Out of High School, Harold joined the United States Airforce and was honorably discharged after 3 years of service. On February 5, 1955, He was united in marriage to the love of his life Bernadine Kearny at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tama, Iowa. They began a family of their own raising their three children. Harold worked hard for many years as a farmer and a truck driver. In his free time, he was a member of the American Legion in Tama, Iowa and part of the Tama County Board as the zoning commissioner. He loved to keep his yard looking sharp by weeding and mowing, smoking his pipe, and visiting with his neighbors. His character was strong, he was loyal, continued to be a loving husband and father, and was a great role model. He is remembered by his wife of 67 years, Bernadine Schuett; his children, Danny (Norma) Schuett, Susan (Jeff) Krough, and Steve (Tammy) Schuett; his grandchildren, Drew (Becky) Schuett, Tyler Schuett, Traci (Jeff) Robson, Lanese (Travis) Thompson, Lynnae (Lloyd) Couillard, Ashley (Corey) Sawyer, Dustin (Katie) Schuett, Chase (Emily) Schuett; great-grandchildren, Treven and Shawna Schuett, Zachary, Cayden, and Delia Robson, Alex and Autumn Thompson, Sage Couillard, Ryker and Rylee Sawyer, August, Hudson, and Cora Schuett, and Finley Schuett; alongside his nephew Gary Lenhart. He was preceded in death by his parets August and Etta; his brother Leonard Schuett and sister Dorothy Lenhart.
