Harry L. Jones, 78, of Marshalltown, died November 6, 2009, at the Iowa Veterans Home.Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Harrys family. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He was the son of Louis and Iona (McCourtie) Jones. Harry served in the United States Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean War. On August 5, 1968, Harry married Jeanette Frohwein in Hastings, MN.Harry worked at KIOWA Corporation for 16 years, Gray Iron Foundry, and was a hired farm helper for many years. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was very much a cat fisherman, loved farming, working outdoors, and messing with small engines.Surviving Harry are his wife, Jeanette Jones, of Marshalltown; his children, Randy (Connie) Jones of Illinois, Harold Jones, Charles (Sandy) Jones of Waterville, MN, and Jerry Jones of Marshalltown; his daughter-in-law, Shelly Jones Wood of Beaman; Jolene ( Jack) Forehand, James(Pam) Klinefelter, Julie( Kent) Keeler Jackie( John) Six all of Marshalltown, his 22 grandchildren; his 24 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Gerald Jones and Eugene George Jones, both of Marshalltown; and Louis (Ada) Jones of Hastings, MN; and several nieces and nephews.In death, Harry has rejoined his parents, two sisters, Ida Mae Hock and Dorothy Hickson, brother Darrell Jonesand his son, Thomas Jones.
