Harvey was born March 21, 1948, at the Evangelical Deaconess Hospital in Marshalltown. He was one of nine children raised by parents Harvey Elmer Sr. and Wilma Lucille (Oglevie) Angle. After graduating from LDF High School, Harvey then went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972. He sailed on the USS Paul Revere and received several medals for his bravery, including Nation Defense Service, Republic of Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Service with a bronze star.
Harvey’s heart for service didn’t end there – he went on to bravely serve his community as a firefighter with the Marshalltown Fire Department from 1973 to 2003. He also worked as an EMT, EMT Instructor and Fire Instructor on top of serving as Fire Chief in Ferguson, IA and with the American Red Cross. In his free time, he loved country western dancing and working in his garden. Harvey dedicated his entire life to helping others – fighting fires and saving lives. He will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory including his children: son Joel Angle, stepdaughter Kasey Cannon and stepson Andy Krier; granddaughters Seyarah and Hayden Angle, three step-grandchildren and one great-step-granddaughter; the mother of his children and former spouse, Teri Burnham; siblings: sister Mary Eash, and two brothers, Terry and Jerry Angle.
In eternal life, Harvey is reunited with his parents and five siblings: Pauline Angle, Jean Curry, Ron Angle, Emily Hines and Luella Butch
