Heather Snider

Heather Renee Snider, 26, of Ames, an angel on earth and now an angel above, passed from this life on Thursday, August 22nd, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Her death came peacefully at 11:55 a.m. with her family at her side. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 27th, at the Green Mountain United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. Kim Wilson officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Green Mountain Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Born on February 19, 1987, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Timothy Snider and Teresa (Snider) Cowan. She was passionate about supporting the Iowa State Cyclones and enjoyed riding Cy-Ride as well as sneaking into Iowa State Football games. She loved spending time with her family and her cellphone (LOL!!!).She was blessed in her life with Gilbert, her best buddy and service dog, who went everywhere she did. Gilbert mourns her loss as do her Dad, Timothy (Connie) Snider of Green Mountain, Iowa. Mom, Teresa (Keith) Cowan of Marshalltown, Iowa, siblings: Austin Cowan (Marissa Fuller) of Marshalltown, Joe Snider (Laura Ihde) of Green Mountain, Holly Cowan of Green Mountain, Ashley (Adam) Thomas of Marshalltown, Stephanie Snider Taylor of Marshalltown and Chris Cowan (Tara Rathjen) of Marshalltown, five precious nieces and four nephews; her grandma Marie Lynch (Gib Smith) of Ames, great-grandma Margret Heathcoate of Ames, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In death, she rejoined her grandpa Richard Snider, Grandma, Delores Snider, Great-grandparents, Erwin and Hazel Denner and Elmer and Inga Snider.
