Helen Earhart

Helen Francis Earhart, 90, of Marshalltown, passed away Friday, November 28th, 2008, at Villa Del Sol, while in the care of their staff, Iowa River Hospice, and the family that loved her. A celebration of Helens life will be 2:00p.m. Tuesday, December 2nd at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1:00p.m. until the service time. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Helen and her family, phone 641-844-1234. Helen was born July 12th, 1918, the daughter of Robert and Stella (Drury) Brothers. She grew up on a farm east of Marshalltown and graduated from LeGrand High School in 1935. Helen then attended the Deaconess School of Nursing, graduating with her Registered Nursing degree. On September 10th, 1941, Helen was united in marriage to Clarence Earhart in Bethany, MO. Together they farmed east of Marshalltown until retirement. Surviving are Helens son Robert (Vicky) Earhart and their children: Robert Jr., Lori, Jimmy, Joey, and Tracy; daughter Sally (Roger) Chase and their children: Troy Dannen, Tammy Weese, and Steve Chase; Sisters Shirley Naylor, Dorothy Lynch, and her brother Walter Brothers. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1988, and her brother Gerald Brothers.
