Helen G. Huffaker

Helen G. Huffaker, 98, of Marshalltown, died Saturday morning, November 13th, at the Grandview Heights in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 17th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the services. Born on October 12th, 1912, in Backus, MN. she was the daughter of Charles E. and Bertha M. (Pieter) Lamb. She graduated from the LeGrand High School in 1930.On February 16th, 1938, she was united in marriage to Clifford Huffaker in LeGrand. They made their homes in Ferguson, Iowa Falls, LeGrand and Marshalltown. Helen enjoyed gardening, reading, and genealogy and treasured her family. Left to cherish her memory is her five children: Sandra Thompson of Marshalltown, Loren (Kay) Huffaker of Marshalltown, Debra (Larry) Mercer of Rhodes, Walter (Leona) Huffaker of Marshalltown and Gloria (Gary) Boone of Gladbrook, 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In death, Helen rejoined her parents, her husband, son-in-law Bill Thompson, grandson-in-law Leland Bassett, sisters Elta, Jessie and Clara and brothers Art, Harold and Cleo.
