Phone 641-844-1234Honorah Frances Noonan was born on December 27, 1927 at St Thomas Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa; she was the daughter of Dr. James Joseph and Beatrice (Endres) Noonan. She had attended school at St Clara Academy in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin and then attended U of I receiving her Bachelors of Arts and then her Juris Doctorate in Law. She was a member of St. Marys Church and served on the Iowa River Hospice Board and the Marshall County Historical Society. Ahead of her time, she was the only woman in her law class in 1954. She rescued many cats and dogs throughout her life and could win the love of even the toughest cases. In her retirement she cared for her mother unto her mothers death. Even into her own old age she held holiday feasts at her home for others who were alone. She was a great letter writer, and never let a birthday or anniversary pass unacknowledged. In short, she did all the quiet, important things that make the world a good place. Honorah loved opera, mysteries, history, figure skating, and as a young woman traveled extensively. She kept a vegetable garden every year, and never let a bite go to waste. She was frugal with herself, but generous with others. She collected friends throughout her life and was beloved by her neighbors, who she cared for like family. She will be missed by her sisters Nancy and Deborah, by her niece Sheila McCormick, and her nephews Robert Hennelly, John Hennelly, and Jamie Hennelly. And her many great nephews and nieces.
