Howard Prim, age 89, longtime resident of Marshalltown, died on November 9, 2012, in Douglas County Healthcare Center, in Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral services and a celebration of Howard's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 16, 2012, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2012, where his family will be present to greet friends. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Howard and his family.Howard was born November 1, 1923 on a little farm in Alden, Iowa, son of Robie E. and Bertha (Chrisman) Prim. Howard graduated from Whitten High School. He was united in marriage to his loving wife Evelyn Groves on March 15, 1952, at the First Baptist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Howard was employed at the Marshall Canning Company for seven years where he worked in the printing department. He was also employed at Fishers for twenty-nine years. Howard and his wife were members of Bethany United Methodist Church for many years and Howard was also a member of the UAW. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids as well as camping, gardening, all of the activities that took place at the nursing home, especially bingo. Howard also loved to eat all different types of food.He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Prim; children: Monte (Gloria) Prim, Cindy (Doug) Loseke; grandchildren: Shane (Ali), Matthew, Cody and Chad; several nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Rosella Wiley and Ruby Prim.
