Howard Clarence Stanley Sr., 79, of Newton, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Cremation rites have been accorded and graveside services are set for Tuesday, June 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Center School Cemetery in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Howard Stanley was born on August 15, 1936 in Marshall County to Clarence Ercle and Leta William (Moorman) Stanley. He married Bonnie (Chase) Stanley and together they raised their family in the Marshalltown area. Howard enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and old time westerns. Left to cherish Howards memory are his children: Howard (Zanna Rice) Stanley, Jr. of Clearwater, Florida; Steven Eugene Stanley of Grimes, Iowa; Helen Kay (Dennis) Buchanan of Newton, Iowa; Julie Ann Stanley of Marshalltown, Iowa Teresa Marie (Terry) Hinegardner of Montour, Iowa; and Amy Maxine Stanley of Altoona, Iowa. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. In death, Howard rejoins his wife, Bonnie Stanley; his parents, Clarence and Leta Stanley; an infant daughter, Pamela Sue Stanley; son, Gregory Allen Stanley; two brothers and two sisters.
