Ida M. Wyllie, 77, of Melbourne, Iowa, currently residing in Arizona for the winter months, died thereWednesday, April 13, 2011, at the Arrowhead Hospital in Glendale, Arizona. Funeral services for Ida will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 22, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 21, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home where her family will be present to greet friends. Burial will take place at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sigourney, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be directed in Idas name to her family. She was raised and educated in the place of her birth and attended the German School System. While she was working as a waitress Ida met her future husband, Donald Wyllie. They were married on October 19, 1957, in Ulm, Germany at a United States Army Chapel. Following their marriage the couple returned to the United States where she supported Donalds career and raised their family. Ida and Donald settled in the Marshalltown area and she went on to work for Kiowa for over thirty-four years at the time of her retirement. During their retired years Ida and Donald spent six months per year (the winter months) in Arizona. Ida enjoyed gardening, fishing, bingo, cooking and was especially fond of playing the slot machines at the casino. Most of all she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and will be greatly missed. Ida is survived by her husband Donald of Melbourne, her children: Ed (Paula) Wyllie of Marshalltown, Jim (Kristy) Wyllie of Belton, Texas, Bob (Sandy) Wyllie of Marshalltown and Brian (Elke) Ewalt of of Marshalltown, her siblings: Sendy Minnick of Texas, Maria of Germany and Fuddle Werner of Germany, her three grandchildren: Ryan, James and Megan, her two step-grandchildren Tonya and Nicole and her six great-grandchildren. Ida was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Jacob Wyllie.
