Mr. Immanuel Weber, 83, of Marshalltown, died Saturday, March 29th, at the MMSC. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2nd, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Daniel Johnson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Ph 641-844-1234. Born on October 9th, 1924, in Tonica, Illinois, he was the son of Rev. and Mrs. William Grover Weber. He graduated from Lost Nation High School in 1943 and served our country honorably in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. He married Luella L. Meier on September 4th, 1949, at Elkport, Iowa, in a ceremony performed by his father. He worked as a Pontiac Dealer parts manager for 15 years in Grinnell, Newton and Marshalltown and was employed a total of 25 years by Lennox Industries (13 in Marshalltown and the last 12 in Carrollton, Texas) until his retirement in 1989. Immanuel was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church where he served as superintendent of Sunday school, councilman, elder and sang in the choir. Survivors include his wife and best friend Luella; daughters Elaine (Donald) Smith of Chicago and Nancy (Charles) Rees of Marshalltown; grandchildren Matthew (Elisabeth) Smith, Emily (Peter) Ploegman, Katherine and Rachel Smith all of Chicago; Sara (Dr. Peter) Schebler of Olathe, Kansas, Abigail (Micheal) Archabald of Goose Creek, SC, Benjamin, Aaron, Daniel and Joel Rees all of Marshalltown; three great-grandchildren and three brothers Dr. Cornelius (June) Weber of Cincinnati, Ohio, William Weber of Madrid, Iowa, and Jerome (Brenda) Weber of Keosauqua, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Margaretta (Cornelius) Schakel.
