Inez Eggers

Inez Hartkemeyer Eggers, 96, of State Center, died Friday, November 6, 2009, at State Center Manor.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 9th, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Phone 641-844-1234.Inez Charlotte Victoria Hartkemeyer was born on November 15, 1912, in Benton County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Louis and Alma (Holst) Hartkemeyer. Inez graduated from Belle Plaine High School and went on to train to teach school. She was a resident of rural State Center.Inez taught country school and worked at nursing homes, including Bryant Nursing Home in State Center and the Marshall County Care Facility. She enjoyed church, her family, cooking, gardening, flowers, watching ISU ballgames, and quilting with ladies from her church.She is survived by one daughter, Ruth (Eugene) Moody of Maxwell; four sons, Robert (Kay) Eggers of Naples, FL, Richard (Pam) Eggers of Bellevue, WI, Russell (Linda) Eggers of Des Moines, IA, and Roscoe (Kay) Eggers of State Center; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, her brother, Harold (Marjory) Hartkemeyer of Belle Plaine, and her sister, Viola McGrath of Cedar Rapids.She is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lester and Ewalt Hartkemeyer, and 3 sisters, Esther Canale, Alice Hartkemeyer, and Wilma Failla.
