Inez Goecke

Inez Goecke, 93, of Marshalltown, died Sunday evening, September 19th, at MMSC.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 23rd, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Waltemeyer on February 11th, 1917, on a farm near Rhodes, she was the only daughter and one of five children born to Earl and Grace (Kuhns) Waltemeyer. She graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1935 and worked at Marshalltown Instruments until her marriage to Clifford Goecke in 1947.The Goeckes lived near State Center on the family farm for 52 years. Cliff died in 1998 and Inez resided on the southside of Marshalltown until moving to the Embers. Mrs., Goecke was a member of the Minerva Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, former member of Lincoln Valley and enjoyed playing cards, golf and bingo. She and Clifford were blessed with 10 winters in Arizona. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Susan of Marshalltown, in-laws Mary Waltemeyer in California and Calvin and Shirley Goecke of Marshalltown as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as her Embers family. In death, she rejoined her husband, her parents and four brothers- Donald, Mansel Curly, Kenneth and Lloyd.
