Iona Pryde, 90 of Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook passed Sunday morning, September 11, 2011.The family will have a private graveside burial in Illinois at a later date. Phone 641-844-1234.Iona Mae Wallwork was born in St Anthony, Iowa she was the daughter of Oscar and Dessie (Keopple) Wallwork. She attended school in St Anthony graduating from High School. On May 3, 1952 she married Merle Pryde in Los Angeles, California. Iona had lived in St Anthony, Los Angeles, Decatur, Illinois, Marshalltown and Gladbrook. Iona had worked for the Telephone Company in St Anthony and Ames and for Pacific Bell in Los Angeles for 40 years, retiring to Decatur, Illinois in 1985. She had been a member of the Ladies Moose and Eastern Star. Iona loved to shop, enjoyed listening to music and liked to read and always had a special place in her heart for her cats.Iona (Aunt Babe) is survived by her nieces; Jane(Robert) Jordebrek of Garwin, Iowa , Sally(Bart) Parshall of Marina, California, nephews; John(Rita )Harmsen of Marshalltown, Iowa , Michael (The late Gail) Kern of Carson City, Nevada and Anthony (Skip) Kern of Marina, California.Iona rejoins her parents; Oscar and Dessie, her husband; Merle, sisters; Luena Wallwork, Elnora Harmsen and Edith Kern, brothers; Eugene Wallwork.
