Irene Beck

Daisy Irene Beck, 93, of Marshalltown passed away at the Iowa River Hospice House on August 12th, 2017. Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 18th at the First Baptist Church in Marshalltown at 10:30 a.m. with a public visitation held an hour before until the service time. Irene was born on December 20, 1923 to the parents of Harley and Daisy Powers in rural Marshalltown. She made her younger years in the area and graduated with the class of 41 from the Marshalltown High School. Irene was a very giving person and volunteered her time at the Marshalltown Hospital working in the gift shop, and also at Anson School in Marshalltown. She was very outgoing and never met a stranger. She was an active member of the Morning Star for many years. She loved playing cards with the girls and had an infectious laugh that would make its way through the room. She was a prankster and loved to tease her family. One Christmas day she led Roger on a scavenger hunt through the whole house to only lead to his present of a roll of toilet paper. Irene loved her family and will be missed by countless friends that she called family.
