Irma Guadalupe Corpus De Mendoza

Irma Guadalupe Corpus de Mendoza, age 49, of Marshalltown, passed away Sunday, May 24th at Unity Point Hospital in Marshalltown. A visitation for Irma will be held on Friday, May 29th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Due to a visitation still being considered a social gathering and not a religious event, we must follow the guidelines of no more than 10 people gathered at a time and will accommodate this by rotating people as they come. We encourage individuals to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Services will be Saturday, May 30th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, followed immediately by a burial at Riverside Cemetery. Irma was born on February 13, 1971 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to parents Jesus and Anastacia (Vasquez) Corpus.  She married Obed Mendoza on November 21, 1988 in Eagle Pass, TX.  They moved to Marshalltown shortly after in 1989.  Family was everything to Irma.  She also loved nature, especially flowers (roses and magnolias were her favorite) and gardening. Left to cherish her memory is her husband: Obed; her parents: Jesus and Anastacia; her two daughters: Joanna (Yoan) Lara and Brenda (Salvador Baeza) Mendoza; five grandchildren: Isacc Lara, Adrian Lara, Jordan Lara, Noe Baeza-Mendoza and Isaiah Baeza-Mendoza; and her siblings: Margarita, Marcos, Ricardo, Marisela, Nora, Jesus and Carlos. Irma is preceded in death by three siblings: Arturo, Everardo and Antonio Corpus.
