Jack Frost

Jack Frost, 81, of Le Grand passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:30 at the Le Grand Friends Church with Pastor Alan Mullikin officiating. A public visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, at the Le Grand Friends Church from 5 - 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Le Grand Friends Church, East Marshall Baseball, or Meskwaki Friends Church. Jack Austin Frost was born March 28, 1936 to Martha Belle (Austin) and Elmer James Frost in Marshalltown, Iowa. He attended school in Marshalltown, Montour, and Le Grand. On May 18, 1954 Jack graduated from Le Grand High School. Jack went to work at Fishers on May 18, 1954 and worked there for 41 years. He met his high school sweetheart at Hinegardner skating rink. Jack and Joan were married on November 19, 1955 in Marshalltown. The couple moved to Le Grand in 1962. Jack coached summer baseball, boy scouts, LDF booster club, and the Lions Club. Jack was a member of the Le Grand Friends Church for many years supporting the church any way he could. He loved his Hawkeyes, Detroit Lions, East Marshall Baseball, and walking. He loved to travel with the kids and later bus tours. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Joan, children Kirby (Ann), Gregory (Jan), and Dawn (Jamie). Grandchildren Stacy (Randy), Daniel (Jamie), Justin (Michele), Sean (Allison), Cory (Katie), Breanne (Mike), and Miriah (Patrick), and 17 great-grandchildren. Jack is preceded in death by his mother Martha, father Elmer, sister Jackie, mother-in-law Evelyn, father-in-law Orville, and the four legged love of his life Bruno.
