Jack came into this world on May 27th, 1936, in Des Moines, the son of Keith and Virginia (Weckman) Mohler. He was raised by his grandparents, Bess and Joe Pugh, and Grandpa Joe taught him the appreciation and love of automobiles- tearing them apart and putting back together. As Jack would say, he graduated from the School of Hard Knocks and began a colorful, lifelong career of sales. For 20 years, he was affiliated with Saladmaster and then 30 years with Masterguard. No matter where, he was looked up to and admired by co-workers and management for his sales abilities. He also was the owner and operator of A&J Classic Cars in Marshalltown. On June 25th, 1955, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Arlene Allen, in Des Moines. They resided in Des Moines following their marriage until moving to Marshalltown in 1970. Jack, also known as Black Jack, dearly loved his family and time with them as well as golfing, going to the casino, playing poker, motorcycles, traveling to Vegas and Scottsdale (Barrett-Jackson Auctions), driving his skid loader, collecting anything and most recently, developed a heartfelt relationship with Jesus Christ. Left to cherish his memory are Arlene, his loving wife of 59 years, his daughters: Fauna (Mark) Nord of Marshalltown and Wendy Mohler (Dao Sorlaesith) of Marshalltown, seven dear grandchildren- Jack -his namesake (Alicia) Kosakowski of Scottsdale, AZ, Dallas and Daytona Sorlaesith of Marshalltown, Tiffany (Todd) Adamson and their son Tate of Burlington, IL, Brittney Mohler of Rochelle, IL, Broc Mohler and his son Aidan of Rochelle, IL, and Natasha Mohler of Sycamore as well as sisters Kathy and Pat and many, many friends. In death, Jack was reunited with his son Monty who passed away suddenly on September 19th, 2002, his parents and grandparents.
