Jack Scovill

Jack Scovill, 76, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Iowa River Hospice Home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Jackie Willis Scovill was born on July 9, 1939, at St Thomas Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of Donald Willis and Virginia (Martin) Scovill. Jack attended school in the Marshalltown Community School District and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy from 1956 until 1960. On December 27, 1988, Jack was united in marriage to Stacie Kent in Las Vegas, Nevada and they had resided in Marshalltown. Jack worked for the Railroad for 30 plus years and had been a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed reading, fishing, building toy trains, watching old westerns and loved his family. Left to cherish Jacks memory are his children, Brandon and Dillon Scovill of Marshalltown, Iowa and Virginia, Donny and David all in Washington. In death Jack rejoins his parents, Donald and Virginia and his wife, Stacie (2012).
