Genevieve Jackie Biesnecker, 93, of Marshalltown, passed away Wednesday evening, May 13, 2015, at the Grandview Heights Rehab and Health Care while under the care of Iowa River Hospice and where she has resided since November of 2012. Born Genevieve Lucille Mayer on April 15th, 1922, at home in Marshall County, she was the daughter of Albert and Eva (Gallentine) Mayer Sr. She graduated from the Marshalltown High School. On February 23, 1942, Jackie was united in marriage to Richard Biesnecker. The young couple farmed at Conrad for 14 years and then moved to Marshalltown where she worked at Marshalltown Instruments and Donco in Albion, Iowa. Jackie was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa and enjoyed baking cookies and holiday candies, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes play football and basketball and the Chicago Cubs. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Marylin (Bob) Gean of Marshalltown, three grandchildren- Troy (Belinda) Gean of Gainesville, GA, Todd (Dawn) Gean of Des Moines, Iowa and Tina (Mark) Estrem of Slater; and 7 precious great-grandchildren- Victoria, Austin, and Chance Gean all of Gainesville, Georgia, Ryan Gean of New York and Rachel Gean of Des Moines and Clay and Cael Estrem of Slater, Iowa, brother, Larry (Rosemary) Mayer of State Center, Iowa and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Mayer of Marshalltown, Iowa. In death, Genevieve rejoined her beloved Richard, a grandson Jeffrey Gean, her parents Albert and Eva Mayer, Sr., brothers, Albert, Jr., Floyd Sr., and Danny and sisters, Lois Huston and Emma Connley.
