Jackie "Jack" L McGinty

Jackie “Jack” McGinty, 77, of Garwin, Iowa, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Westbrook Acres on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, under the care of the Iowa River Hospice Home.

Funeral services for Jack will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will begin prior to the service; beginning at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family. Jack was born on March 23, 1948 in Peoria, Illinois. He was the son of Carl and Wanda. Jack worked for Banzhaf roofing, Meskwaki Casino in maintenance and cleaned for Superior Cleaning at Lennox. Jack enjoyed fishing, playing video games, watching westerns and listening to old time country music.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughter: Trisha Slifer; son: Matthew (Jodi) McGinty; grandsons: Andrew, Michael, Alexander, Jonathon and Cayden. He is also survived by his sister: Carla Davis and cousins, nieces, nephews and his dogs: Cody and Jake.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents.
