Jacquet Frank Moore, 65, of Marshalltown, died July 9, 2008, at his home while in the care of his loving family and Iowa River Hospice.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday July 18, 2008 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Jacquet Frank Moore was born on June 21, 1943 in Memphis, TN to Clarence and Dorothy (Calvin) Moore. He graduated from Carver High School in Memphis. Jacquet served our country in the US Navy, enlisting on August 26, 1960. Shortly after basic training, he returned to Memphis, TN and married Jeanette Jackson on November 19, 1960. After serving his country, he and his wife relocated to New Orleans, LA, where he worked as a construction worker and also worked at Kaiser Aluminum in Algiers, LA. To this union of 16 years, one child was born, Jacquenette Felicia Moore. He enjoyed watching movies, gardening, and relaxing and visiting at home. Jacquet is survived by his children, Jacquenette Felicia Moore of Evergreen Park, IL, Onika (Darryl) Pittman of Memphis, TN, and Jacquet Frank Moore Jr. of Memphis, TN; his 7 grandchildren; his 8 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Steve(Brenda) Plessy, Michael Plessy, Anthony Plessy, and Sylvia Amoore, all of New Orleans, LA , and Diane Rucker; his aunts, Mabel Vanderbilt of Chicago, IL and Laura Ballard of Memphis, TN; and his soulmate and caretaker, Bobbie Massey of Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt Fannie Banks, and his brother Edward Plessy.
