James Carl Bacino, 91, of Marshalltown, went to Heaven on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
Funeral services for Jim will be held on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Center Street Baptist Church in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Jim Bacino was born on August 30, 1931 in Marshalltown to Salvatore and Lorenza (DiGrado) Bacino. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1949. Jim served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. On June 1, 1957, Jim was united in marriage to Jacqueline Schneider.
Before starting his fulfilling careers, Jim obtained his degree in business from Marshalltown Business College. Upon completion, Jim served as Vice President of the Local Allied Van Lines agency. During his second venture Jim really hit his stride in real estate, receiving many awards for his sales and customer relations.
Jim was a 50-year plus member and past president of The Marshalltown Noon Kiwanis Club. His military service prompted Jim to obtain lifetime memberships in both the VFW and American Legion. He was instrumental in starting a drum and bugle corps in Marshalltown. He was also a founding member of the “AH Club”. Above all else, Jim will be remembered as being a loving husband and father.
Jim was an avid golfer and loved to travel with Jackie to visit their children as well as to the northeastern portion of the United States to look at the fall colors.
Jim is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jackie. Children: Tony (Marcia) Bacino of Marshall County, Angie (Frank) Jensen of Loveland, Colorado and C.J. (Jaime Wittmer) Bacino of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Grandchildren: Kristopher (Kari) Bacino, Andrew Bacino, Asta Jensen, Erin (Donny) Hodgekinson, Kyra (Peter) Meyer and Brooke Jensen. He is also survived by great-grandchildren: Caleb, Halley, Genevieve, Samuel and Kaylene Bacino and sister: Mary (Ray) Keables of Des Moines along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore and Lorenza; son, Samuel and sister Clara Pantaleo.
