James Bud Moore, 52, of State Center, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Iowa River Hospice Home, with his loving family by his side. Honoring James wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in his name to a cause to be determined at a later date. Born James Moore on June 15, 1961, in Morganfield, Kentucky, he was the son of James and Jackie (Barksdale) Moore. He was raised and educated in the Henderson, Kentucky, school district, graduating from Henderson High School. Following high school, Bud went on to college at SEIC in Harrisburg, Illinois. On December 18, 1987, in Morganfield, Kentucky, Bud married the love of his life, Judith Collier. While Bud and his wife, Judy, lived in Illinois, they raised and broke horses. While living in Illinois, he worked as an engineer for North Star Navigation. Once they moved to Marshalltown, Bud worked as a carpenter. He was well known for his handyman work. He had a passion for wood carving, and could build just about anything he put his mind to. He also enjoyed gardening and watching the birds. Bud was a member of the Marshalltown Masonic Lodge #108. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Judy Moore; children: Kimberly (Dan) Elder and Annette (Mark) Dunn; grandchildren: Colby Dunn, Logan Elder, Garrett Dunn, and Adrienne Elder; his mother: Jackie (Moore) Malay; one brother, Terry Moore; two sisters: Melody Husky and Robin Jones. Bud is preceded in death by his father, James; grandparents, and one sister, DeeAnn Moore.
