James "Jimmy" Morford

James “Jimmy” Lee Morford, age 72, of Ames, passed away in the comfort and love of his daughter’s home while in care of the Iowa River Hospice on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

Born on January 1, 1950 in Marshalltown, he was the son of William Royden and Georgine (Doupnik) Morford. He received his education in Marshalltown. He was united in marriage to Patricia Williamson and their union was blessed with three children.

Jimmy had a strong work ethic, a value he instilled to his children. He was always working hard: construction, plowing snow and towing vehicles, to name a few. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, working on old cars, traveling and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children: Tammy (John) Rash of Union, Mindy (Nick) Keller of Union and Thomas Morford of Bondurant; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings: LeRoy Morford of Marshalltown, Sharon Sletten of Marshalltown and Larry (Nancy) Morford of Marshalltown, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In death, Jimmy rejoined his parents, sister RoseAnn and sister-in-law Patti.
