James L. Schmidt, 61, of Marshalltown, died Wednesday, January 18th, at his home.Private family services will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest in Minnesota in the family lot. Ph. 641-844-1234.Born on May 24, 1950, in Wadena, Minnesota, he was the son of Albert and Hilda (Holst) Schmidt. He graduated from the Luverne (Minnesota) High School and later served our country honorably in the United States Army. Mr. Schmidt was employed in concrete work at Concrete, Inc. in Marshalltown, Iowa.Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Amy Schmidt of Marshalltown, Kendra Kehoe of Montezuma and Melissa Schmidt of Beaman; his siblings- Marilyn Schmidt of Luverne, MN, Richard Schmidt of Avon, MN, Carol (Dallas) Dohlmann of Magnolia, MN, Darlene (Dean) Brown of Minnetonka, MN, Steven (Deb) Schmidt of Burnsville, MN, Laurie (Delbert) Gangestad of Kenneth, MN, Michael (Lori) Schmidt of Lincoln, NE and Judy (Jim) Wiese of Pipestone, MN as well as many nieces, nephews and other family.In death he rejoined his parents, brother Ron and sister Londa.
