James "Jim" Thompson

James "Jim" Thompson of Legrand, Iowa passed away Monday, 29 June 2020 at Premier Nursing Home in Toledo, Iowa. A visitation for Jim will take place on Tuesday, July 7, from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, with a graveside service immediately following at Riverside Cemetery. Jim was born 6 September, 1935 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to George C. and Sophia E. Herschel Thompson. He attended school in Columbia and Tama, Iowa. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia A. Miller on 14 May, 1956 in Lancaster, Missouri.  Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Pam Gabel of Davenport, Iowa, Tina (Denny) Sinclair of Springdale, Arkansas, and a son Michael (Melanie) Thompson of Cleveland, Ohio.  One niece, Sandra (Joseph) Lippert, of Texas, 9 Grandchildren, and 14 Great Grandchildren. Jim was proceded in death by his Wife, Pat Thompson, Parents, George and Sophia Thompson, Sister Evelyn Pratt, and Father and Mother-In-Law Claude and Dolly Miller. Lovingly written by the family.
