James Edgar Yantis went to be with his Lord on November 8th, 2008.Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. He was next to the youngest child of 13 children of Ola Fay (Rummerfield) and Fred Erving Yantis who preceded him in death. Three sisters and five brothers preceded him in death also: Fern Mathew, Lela Bacon, Bonnie Bell Yantis, Dean, Roscoe, Sam, Lindsey, and Bob.Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Frances (Hall); his 2 children, Bev Garmon (Randy) of Westminster, Colorado and Brad Yantis (Edianna) of Olathe, Kansas; his four grandchildren, Charla Garmon (Boe Benefield) of Boise, Idaho; Jamey Garmon of Westminster, Colorado; and Micah and Brady Yantis of Olathe, KS.; his three brothers, Leo, Melvin and Fred Jr.; his sister Nellie Brumbaugh, plus many nephews and nieces. Jim will be mightily missed by his many friends in Clarksville, AK; Greenville, TX; and Marshalltown, Iowa. James was in the Air Force for 3 years and was stationed in Germany part of the time. After the service, he worked at Marshalltown Instruments for 22 years, Fiberite in Greenville, TX for 11 years. James was a security guard for several years at Sara Lee and most recently drove a bus for Forrester-Davis Developmental Center in Clarksville.
