Jana Perry

Jana Marie (Sleeth) Perry, 48, passed away on Monday, December 30th at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. She was born on April 5, 1965 in Des Moines, IA to Paul Sleeth and Debra Patricia (Krier) Sleeth. Jana grew up in Des Moines, Wellsburg and Beaman, Iowa. She graduated from BCL High School in Conrad, Iowa. Jana was preceded in death by her mother, Pat Prosser; grandfather, Raphael (Bud) Krier and grandmother, Janie Krier. Jana is survived by her daughters, Megan Perry of Katy, TX and Sara Perry of Katy, TX; sisters, Dena Butler (Dave) of Cedar Rapids, IA; Shawna Dickinson (Dwain) of Toccoa, GA; Lana Crouse of Torrington, CT; nephew, Bailey Dickinson of Toccoa, GA, niece, Rylee Dickinson of Toccoa, GA and many aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Jana was a very caring person with a huge heart. She would go out of her way to make sure everyone was cared for, friends, family and even total strangers. If Jana saw or felt that someone needed something, she would try to help. Often giving to others at her personal expense. She loved to write notes to her daughters in lunch boxes, cabinets and on the counter. Always ending the notes with I love you with all my heart. Softball was her passion. She loved sports, cards and cooking. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at Mitchell Funeral Home in Marshalltown on January 4, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11:30 a.m. After the service; everyone is invited to a reception at Morning Glory Bakery located at 209 North 13th Street in Marshalltown to share memories.
