JaneArney Leonard Perrin, 91, born July 20, 1919 on a farm near Albion, Iowa to parents Vivian FraleyArney and Ira Ralph Arney; passed away on August 23, 2010. She graduated from Albion High School in 1937 and attended Iowa State Teachers College (now known as Northern Iowa College) and Central Iowa Business College in Marshalltown. She was the secretary to the YMCA Director and while there organized and directed the YMCA Boys Chorus for several years. At Lennox Furnace Company she was the switch board operator and worked at the information desk. Jane married Paul F. Leonard on October 12, 1941, a union that last until his death in 1953. Jane was elected County Recorder in 1954 for Marshalltown until she retired in 1960. She lived in Marshalltown all of her life except for a short time during the service. On May 4, 1960, Jane married Burr H. Perrin in Des Moines, Iowa. They traveled extensively and had a summer home on LakeKabetogama in Minnesota and a winter home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida permanently in 2004. Jane was a member of Marshalltown First Methodist Church (past board member); Past Associate member at Community Church at Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida (Deacon on Board of Directors); and an active member of the Methodist Church in Lake Kabetogama, MN. She was active in music throughout her life and sang in the choir in both Marshalltown and Florida for many years. She was a member of DAR for over 57 years and Past President of Evening Circle in Marshalltown. Jane was a President and 50 year member of Theta Chi Sorority; 50 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary; member of Chapter BL,PEO in Fort Lauderdale and past member ofJU in Marshalltown. She also belonged to the LadiesZaGaZig Temple, YWCA, DAR, Elmwood Country Club, Ft. Lauderdale Country Club, Heritage Club of the YWCA, Womens Club and Community Church Ladies Association of Lauderdale by the Sea, and Past Noble Grand of Rebeccas of Albion, Iowa. Jane was thrilled last summer when she celebrated her 90th Birthday with family and friends. She is preceded in death by husbands Burr H. Perrin and Paul F. Leonard, parents Vivian and Ralph Arney, brother Jack Arney, daughter Linda Perrin Pollack, and grandson Jeffrey Cornwall.Jane is survived by her four children, Judy Leonard Cornwall of Scottsdale, AZ, Craig Leonard of Blue Springs, MO, Kent Perrin of St. Louis, MO, and Dr. Janet Tracy of Haskell, NJ; nine grandchildren, Jay Cornwall (WA), Emily Leonard (MO), Dr. Chad Tracy (IA), Eric Tracy (CA), Ann Perrin (MO), Blake Perrin (TX), KatieRucinski (MO), TylerHerrman (MO), and JacobHerrman (MO); 5 great grandchildren; and 1 niece (MN) and 1 nephew(CO).Donations in Janes memory may be made to Marshalltown, Iowa YWCA: 108 Washington St., Marshalltown, IA 50158 641-752-8658.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 30th, at the Lane Chapel of the Riverside Cemetery.
