Janet Kelderman, 74, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at home under the care of her loving family and Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Assembly of God Church in Marshalltown. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Janet Barker was born on May 31, 1939 to Raymond LeRoy Barker and Lillian Laura Scovill Barker in Iowa City. On August 7, 1954; Janet was united in marriage to Robert Franklin Kelderman. She was a graduate of Marshalltown Community School of Nursing class of 1974. Janet worked for the Iowa Veterans Home as an RN Supervisor. Janet was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church, Nurses Alumni, and was the secretary for the Womans Ministry. Janet was on a bowling team with her sisters for years. She loved to travel with her husband, Robert and in later years to visit with her many friends and grandchildren. At family gatherings, she enjoyed playing Scat with her children. Janet is leaving her faithful dog, Petey, to the care of her children. Left to cherish her memory is her children: Debra Kay (Robert Freeman) Kelderman of The Colony, Texas, Marty Wayne Kelderman of Marshalltown, David Ryk (Erica) Kelderman of Mingo and Sheri Lynn (Douglas) McCann of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Hilari Scott, Lawrence Brown II, Matthew Kelderman, Nichole Kelderman, Jennifer Kelderman, Shane Kelderman, Dustin Kelderman, Tara Kelderman, Kylie Kelderman, Natasha Kelderman and Robert Kelderman. Great grandchildren: Brieanna Simpson, Tyler Simpson, Emma Simpson, Jordyn Johnson, Antonia Deal, Johanna Johnson, Madelyn Scott and Rylie Kelderman. Siblings: Shirley Borton and Sharon Roads. Sister in law: Leona (Clare) Carlson and brothers in law: Corwin Kelderman and Delbert (Anaye) Kelderman. Janet is preceded in death by her husband Robert, both parents, son; Robert Leroy Kelderman, daughter: Shelly Lynn Kelderman, brother: Billy Ray Barker, her first granddaughter Michelle Lei Simpson and grandson Ryk David Kelderman.
