Janice More

Janice (Lamb) More of Marshalltown, age 88, passed away on October 28, 2023 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.

She was born in Rural Tama County on June 19, 1935. She was the daughter of George and Naida (Oliphant) Lamb. She graduated from Chelsea High School in 1953 and attended Iowa State Teachers College and graduated in 1955.

Janice taught school in Grundy Center, then she moved to Wheaton, Illinois. She worked for United Airlines as a flight attendant and a flight attendant instructor. In later years she worked for a law firm. She was united in marriage to John More in September 1962. In 2003, she moved to Marshalltown to be closer to her family after the death of her husband. Jan enjoyed traveling and entertaining. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Binford House.

She was preceded in death by her husband John in 2001 and her brothers John and Tom Lamb.

She is survived by her sisters Ellen Knoop of Dysart and Jean Vos of Arizona alongside many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held for Janice. She will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of Vining. Memorials in Janice’s name may be directed to her family for a later designation.
